For some time now we’ve been working on a new phase of our adventures. After 11+ years of Cruising the waters of the western Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea we’ve decided it’s time to give RV’ing another try.
Our present plan (and you know how those can change, right?) is to put Brilliant in storage over the summer and fall, return to the States to find a “second home” in another Class A RV and explore the beautiful sights of the Western US.
This past week we added an automobile to our fleet, one uniquely suitable for towing behind an RV. In RV-speak the towed vehicle behind the rig is called a “Toad”.
Some good friends in Central Florida decided to sell their ’98 Jeep Wrangler and let us know prior to advertising it. Very few automobiles can be towed with all four wheels on the road, and this is one of them. We also know this vehicle and how well taken care of she is, so we felt comfortable making the deal long distance.
Carrie flew back to Florida this week and picked up our new Toad, driving it across the state to Jason and Barbara’s house in Fort Myers, where we’ll store it until this summer.
As you can see she looks pretty sweet (and the Jeep looks pretty nice too!).
This year we plan to split our traveling between summer in the States and winter in the islands. If we can find a buyer for Brilliant we’ll shift to full time RV’ing.
Follow along on the blog and see how that goes.
