We thought the Paperwork Cha Cha was almost over as we tried to jump through the final hoop here in Mexico for a Temporary Import Permit (TIP) to keep the boat here for a few weeks while we explore the country and, TA DA!!!  There’s already a permit in the system with our boat number on it.  WHAT?!?

OK, as long as we’re OK to stay without our boat getting impounded, go ahead and investigate.  The guys at the local marina are saying “NO PROBLEM” which in itself makes us nervous.  But they are helping us speak with the appropriate official and we’re doing the right things, so for now we’re feeling OK.

As such we are having a late lunch in a local Tiki Bar called Bahia Tortuga that looks out over the harbor and is cool and shady, the beer is cold and the fajitas I just had were delicious.  I’m feeling better about things already.  The next installment will be tomorrow.  Until then…
