It has been too long since our last blog and much has transpired. We’re hundreds of miles north of Grenada in the US Virgin Islands once again after a safe and uneventful 3-day passage from Prickly Bay to St. Croix, and then a half day sprint to St. Thomas where we took up residence in Elephant Bay once again to work the tourist season in the USVI. We seem to be getting better at long transits as this one was more enjoyable than last year.
We stopped in St. Croix to investigate a “fixer-upper” boat for sale that we hoped would be our next home on the water, but the seller already had offers when we arrived.
Once back in St. Thomas, Carrie started working immediately at Crown Bay Marina (they love her there) and I returned to part time work at CYOA charters as well as getting Jolly Mon ready to launch for the 2011-2012 charter season. Unfortunately things didn’t work out with the owner and I won’t be the captain on Jolly Mon this year, so my resume hit the waterfront once again. Wish me luck!
We celebrated Thanksgiving with some friends at Island View Guest house on the island. We knew the view would be spectacular and the dinner was sumptuous (and I didn’t have to do the dishes!!)
It’s great to be back in St. Thomas (except for that work thing).
